since my last update i sold my Tepui Kukenam and bought a friends CVT extended w/ annex.

Installed red "rock lights" but i plan to use them for camp lights.

I bought a full size matching spare finally.

Bought an ARB 50qrt fridge off a friend.

Also purchased a Yaesu 7900 Ham

As well as an Alu-Cab tilting slide.

Ill install it this weekend and share some pics of that as well like i always do.

Just waiting out the winter to start camping again.

Installed my fridge slide and tested my battery this weekend.

Battery started at 12.1v at 730am Sunday and i checked it throughout the day and the fridge maintained the proper temp and this morning at 7:00am the battery was at 11.8v and started up no problem. Real happy with the fridge so far in testing at least.

Here is a really inexpensive watt meter / power consumption meter… I use it all the time for testing stuff like the fridge in the desert when camping. Since it doesn’t run 100% duty cycle, this gives a much better real world idea of power consumption and helps plan battery stuff a bit better. You might find it useful for many things too.

I've been using it to build a 24 volt lithium battery bank for my fridge... surprisingly low consumption. Can get a lot of run-time with a little battery.

My mounts came in so we're good to go tomorrow after work. I'll keep you all updated with plenty of pics.

Cut out the old shock pocket and created a new one with the shock tower. Burned it all in after we checked droop and compression.

Got it all finished up today. Was a long process but I'm very happy with the results.

Rides amazing. Extremely happy with it so far.

Great build man and super clean execution! I wanted to see if you could explain the rear upper shock mount a little more. You used the Ruffstuff 9.75" shock mounts on the frame along with their flat mount shock brackets on the axle side correct? 9.75" Shock Tower, 2" Deep - Pair - RuffStuff Specialties

Did you mount the frame mounts at an angle or flat against the frame so they tucked as tight as possible? Also, how did you get to the backside of the mounts to weld on top of the frame?

Are you running 1.25 or 1.5" wheel spacers? Were they needed for clearance or to help with matching the front track width of the +2 and now +3.5?

I am in the process of revamping my rear 3rd gen setup and am looking to outboard longer shocks to get better shock movement and allow for a longer shock for more available travel.

I will likely need to notch my frame for articulation as my axle is narrower and the upper shock mount will need to site higher to get a short body 12" in there, but your mounting idea for the frame with an already fabbed bracket is something I have considered. Was looking at the same exact mounts, Just didn't think to use them along the side of the frame instead of on top like they designed. Fantastic idea. :rockon:

Also with the lower mount and changing the orientation of the bolt, did you see any clearance issues with articulation on that lower mount coming in contact with the shaft or heim?

Where are you in norcal? I see you frequent quite a few norcal Sierra trails outside of Tahoe and Bear Valley. I'm in Brentwood just west of Stockton.

Originally i had planned on doing something like the side mount. But once i took the wheel off i realized i didnt have much space for these bypasses. So i decided to cut into the frame to give me back some of that space. I know another person has installed one like the side mount and his seems to work just fine. Im not if there is any benefit to do either way but i am happy with my set up right now.

upgraded my battery to an AGM 34r and grabbed a second one for my upcoming dual battery set up im slowly piecing together.

Installed my Yaesu 7900 over the holiday break.

extended the mic to be able to unplug when not in use to be out of the way.

What are you using to hold your faceplate? I used a Ram X-Grip but yours looks very clean.

made essentially an L bracket the bolted into the top of the trim bezel and then the back of the quick release faceplate holder.

Gotcha. I thought about doing something similar but wanted to go full stealth. I can remove everything except the Ram ball and then there is no evidence of the radio.

im at the point of no return with the interior and things i have. Im tired of shit bouncing around and moving while offroad at high speeds. This is solid and doesnt bring much attention to it.

Wow, I’ve been away from the forums for a while. I forgot you built this thing out this way. It’s especially cool because it breaks the mold of what everyone else’s looks like, mine included. Jealous of the expedition, looks like fun!

thanks! I just built it for what i use it for to make it easier when i do go to use it. So far thats been rewarding.
