over the holiday break i finally tackled my torn passenger seat bottom. Wasnt too bad. Had it in/out in under a few hours. It will never match the 16 years of use on the back but its not a bad match and much improved.

Hey I bought a +2 TC kit, scratch and dent for a good price, and was wanting to swap to heim UCA's, if that would gain me additional caster.

I noticed you have solid alignment plates instead of the cams on your LCAs and wondered if that was part of the TC kit or if you picked it up somewhere else?

I might try to contact TC to see if they will swap out the UCAs if I pay the difference. Worth a shot. Or jig them and build my own.

Just curious if you could shed some details on how you have it hooked up and have it wired? Can't see the images.

Added solar panels to the roof to help keep my battery topped off since its not my daily as well as help with power while im out camping and using the fridge. I had a Renogy solar suitcase already that i deconstructed and made into a mountable solution. 100w combined system with a 20a waterproof controller.

I attempted originally to have the panels below and/or flush with the rack bars but the arch of my roof prevented that. I have since painted the brackets black to blend in more.

I purchased the solid mounted cam tab plates from Poly Performance.

it absolutely helped with even more caster with the LCA maxed position and then adjusting the upper heims properly. Now i only have to worry about the toe getting knocked out of alignment.

The wires from the panel connect to the solar charger, then there are wires from the connector to the battery terminals. It charges until full then just maintains. Its been a huge help since i dont drive my 4runner daily anymore and when im off the grid and lights and fridge are working when im camping.

Or if you know of anybody with a spare already that I can buy off them.

I have been going through your build thread (great thread btw) and was wondering why did you not go for the ball joint with the zerk fitting so it is greaseable? Do the links make any noise at all?

McMaster-Carr has part# 4444T21 for example that is the same exact as the one listed below, but with the fitting. The only difference I see is static load capacity is a bit less with the greaseable part (5100 vs 6300 lbs).

Also, I might have missed it, but what did you do for the fronts? Did you keep them stock, build out a longer heavier duty set, or do you just disconnect when on the trails?

havent had any noises from them that i can tell anyway.

Front sway bar is removed completely.

The solar install is fairly easy. I mounted the waterproof solar controller in the engine bay, adjacent to the power steering fluid reservoir on the fender apron there.

Wires from the solar panels come down the windshield trim which i siliconed in place and its hidden. Under the cowl and down the fender apron to the controller. Then from the controller across the radiator area to the battery. Hidden as well under the plastic covers.

managed to find a killer deal on a pair of 8" three tube bypasses for the front so i snagged them. Now i just need to get the mount welded up so i can run them.

What an absolute kick @$$ build man. Amazing vehicle and tastefully modded, well done sir... I just really really wish that the photos in the 1st post were able to be seen...Photobucket is notorious for broken photo links. Would love to see more photos of the process.. Havent updated in awhile so heres a photo dump

Got a new tent. GoFSR Odyssey

Added a solar panel to the roof of it

Went snow camping

Went to the Mojave Desert

... I came up with aluminum spacers and running bolts through it. It held great and I was able to drill the holes into the side support to make the sunroof be the proper height. Before I brought the sunroof in one final time I taped it off and painted the inside of the glass black so it wouldn't bake the back of the headliner and eventually wear it down.

Once secured I sealed top and bottom with silicone and made sure there was no chance of leaking. Once that was cured I placed the headliner and re attached the handles and visors.

I love the sunroof delete and want to do something similar...

Did you make these spacers or purchase them?

Sam hasn't been on here for quite some time. I think he was trying to sell the 4Runner at one point. Don't know if he did or not. He has the same user name on Tacoma World.
