The only place I know of is the Canadian River, but that's up north of Amarillo and would be about 3 hours from Lubbock. I'm sure you're aware, but Lubbock is flat as a pancake, but there is some terrain south and east of town where the High Plains drop down to the lower rolling plains.
 
Just like all the good lookin' women, there's an awesome trail behind every tree!!!

BTW, there are no trees in Lubbock only a few shrubs, but if you look hard enough at the horizon, just before the sun goes down, you can see the back of your head.....
