Lubricated zerks equal much smoother ride or placebo?

Haven't done in a while. Was doing oil change today and figured I would tackle this too. Last time was a bit ago at dealer when a buddy had tires put on. Bought a grease gun about month plus ago. Added some valvoline full synthetic grease.

I swear there is a significant difference. Wasn't even looking for it. Accelerating seems much, much smoother. I just know I had the random thump as of late I was going to cure. So can drivetrain improve that much or was it just placebo?

Can 2wd with similar thump be solved with greasing? I've crawled under the truck several time but can not locate any zerks. I've noticed pulling to a full stop I occasionally feel a thump.

I seem to remember something about the 2WD driveshafts not having zerk fittings? I could be wrong on that...

But yes, greasing the drive shaft is supposed to be a part of routine service and can help mitigate driveline thump/clunk and make it feel smoother.

That is correct of all Toyota late model Tacoma, 4runner and Sequoias. 4x4 has greasable fitting, 2wd has nothing.

Doing my drivetrain greasing every 3000km . I felt a difference , no clunks and less vibrations cams from driveline i guess .
