lug/bolt pattern on 2nd gen?

I have a 1992 4runner sitting on the stock 15" wheels and 31x10.5R15 Nexen A/T II's (which aren't that great in the mud fyi). I'm wanting to go up to a 16 or maybe 17 inch wheel for more selection on tires. I just need to know what the lug/bolt pattern is. And I have a website I'm going to buy from, but what does the "offset" mean (30mm offset, 0mm offset, 12mm offset for example)? Excuse my ignorance if this is all a dumb question, I'm more of an engine kinda guy. Any info is much appreciated.

6x5.5. And ignore offset. Offset is a ruse by europeans to confuse us. What you care about is rim width and backspace.
