Lug Centric Haweka adapter to balance wheels in SF BAY AREA???

I'm having a hard time finding a place that knows what the "haweka" adapter is and convincing them that a lug centric wheel balancer is what i need...

i know it has a lot to do with the technician that is actually doing the work but..





DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A PLACE IN THE SF BAY AREA THAT USES THIS ADAPTER OR HAS A LUG CENTRIC WHEEL BALANCER?

Discount Tire can do a "finger plate" balance. Haweka is just the brand, there are several companies that make finger plate adapters.
Every Discount tire I have ever worked at or been to has the "finger plate" balancing tools.

Ask for Jeff Martinez. He balanced my KO2s on my SCS wheels using this adapter. First time I ever saw it and he explained to me that he does this on Toyotas that come in with vibrations.

Just adding my 5 cents. I chased a vibration problem on my last 4runner that nobody else could seemingly feel/find/chase. I had this same balance done on my wheels by discount and it didn't go away.

Mine ended up having an out of balance driveshaft, still didn't fix it. Then I ended up ultimately pulling my rear axles out and finding bad wheel bearings. I heard over and over by mechanics/tire shops alike how "it's just how Toyota's are, rebalance them, get different tires (which I actually tried on their recommendation)".

So before you pull your hair out for vibrations, consider those other items. I went as far as replacing my control arms, you name it. Ended up having small symptoms from 2 item's needing addressed. Driveshaft lost a weight, the double cardan was good an so was rear u-joint, and my wheel bearing.

So Haweka may be foreign to some people, it is a German company. At Snapon we offer a lot of Haweka products as well as Vibration Solutions. We call what you need a pin plate. Given some time and a zip code I could find you a shop, but it might be a pricey one if they have a diagnostic balancer and pin plates. Oh wait, you live in the bay area, everything is pricey. Haha!

GM and Chrysler dealerships pretty much have to have them because of the plastic clad wheels. Doubt that helps you but you might get lucky asking around.

I always use GSP9700 Equipment Locator | United States | Hunter Engineering to find a shop for balancing in a new place. If they have that machine they'll have the adapters. I noticed a huge difference between this with the road force balancing and the last shop that didn't have one.

Should I just get them mounted & balanced at a Toyota dealership?

I did this for mine and it showed Tires Plus close to me had a Hunter machine. I called them and confirmed, then got mine balanced. Smooth sailing. I would NOT recommend Discount Tire, they broke stud on my Grand Am and the Galant. They DID however fix the flat (nail) on one of my T4R tires for FREE which was awesome and I hadn't even purchased my tires from them.

Palo Alto Shell has a Hunter road force balancer. I'm pretty sure those rigs come with a better set of adapters. It did wonders for my balance. Highly recommended!!
