I am putting this out there for the forum to discuss. I have not made up my mind on this oil so don't think I am recommending it...just putting it out there for discussion...

See the link -

MAG1 61790-pk6 Full Synthetic 5W30 SM Motor Oil - 32 oz., (Pack of 6) : Amazon.com : Automotive

At 29.94 for a case of 6 delivered it seems to be a pretty good deal, especially since you can get it for $25.45 if you sign up for auto ship.

For me personally the $29 price is ok, but I can go to Walmart and get one 5 quart jug and an extras quart of Mobil 1 synthetic for almost the same price. However, my brother lives in Jackson WY and oil prices in that town and ridiculous.

Here are the specs from the manufacturer -

Looking forward to a lively discussion..

I've read so many articles/forums about different types of motor oils and I really wonder about the difference. I understand synthetic is different from dino and is supposed to provide superior lubrication (and, yes, I've seen test data from Blackstone, etc.), but it seems as long as you do oil changes at proper intervals and do proper maintenance, your engine should last a long time. I know people who've gone 100K/200K/300K+ miles on dino and synth. Personally, I use synthetic. I've resolved that it's more peace of mind than anything. As far as price, yes the price looks good. Are you a Costco member? They have sales on Mobil 1 Synthetic, which I stock up on (6 qts for $24 + tax). I've personally never heard of Mag1, but as long as the specs check out...why not? Then again, why not go for a more reputable brand. In the end, it's only a few bucks difference.

Just 1 man's opinion...
