Magic door locks

06 sport...I have been working on the 4Runner in the shop for several weeks now. Windows were down. I have started it and shut it down many times. Doors always remained unlocked. I drove around the other day, and parked it in the garage with windows up. I go to get in it later, and the doors are locked. Thought maybe I hit the key fob. I unlock the doors, and when I come back later, the doors are locked again. Any suggestions?

Mine locks all the time automatically, it's like 10-15min and it locks. Wonder if it can be disabled?

If you unlock the doors and then don't enter the vehicle, the autolock feature locks the car at the time specific.

You can set the computer for 30 or 60 seconds for the autolock feature (only the dealer can set the autolock time - haven't found a way to do it myself).

That is good to know. Evidently the feature doesn't activate if the windows are down. Not that you need the doors locked with the windows down, just a note. So, don't shut the doors with the keys on the seat!

You are a wise person! :humble:

Don't know if the autolock can be disabled - never checked. Also don't know about having the windows down but it would seem to defeat the purpose of the autolock feature. (I'll have to check that out.)

Also cannot lock the vehicle with the keyfob with the key in the ignition. However, if you have another set of keys you can manually lock the vehicle.

This happens to me when the truck is sitting in the garage sometimes, I assume it's because the lock or unlock button gets pushed while the keys are in my pocket when I'm upstairs.
