Im planning on getting a cat back from Magnaflow I've been putting this off forever because now my muffler is shot and its straight piped and sounds like hell. so Im planning on pulling the pretty pricey trigger on the Magnaflow is there any options cheaper that are not too noisy but a good throaty sound would be nice.

Would you be open to the idea of just replacing the muffler? If so, the Borla 40665 is a great choice. I've got it along with some others on this forum. I'll drop the link here.

Not sure what I can tell you as far as cheaper options, but I can just add my .02 in regards to the MF overland catback. IMO, sounds great - and is will likely return the "throaty" sound you're looking for. Albeit not cheap.

Good luck

I have the Magnaflow and it's been very nice and customizable as far as the sound goes. I have a hard time with the current price, though, as a group of us paid $300 less - shipped - when it was first released. If money is no object, you won't be disappointed. One thing - there are different grades of stainless steel used and the pipes won't stay free of discoloration like the muffler and resonator do.

This is why i use the eBay northern stainless exhaust cat back. They oxidize yes as we have several different grades of stainless. Are they deep sounding or throaty no. Have to use another option for that. They are just cheaper then walker and last longer. That's good enough for my needs. :)

Have you thought about going to a muffler shop and getting a quote for one welded in? Even with new pipe, you'll be out cheaper than the kit that you have to install yourself.
