Why'd you trade out your TRDs for the SCSs? I was debating between the 2 but JUST pulled the trigger on Friday. Haven't even gotten them yet.

For me, the TRD wheels are too narrow, 17x7 so it made my 285 tires really skinny and sits inside the fender way too much for my liking. I was going to get spacers but my buddy wanted my wheels so I sold it. Buying new wheels was cheaper than keeping the TRD and buying spacer. I can pm you some picture of the trd wheels if needed.

It amazing! did you have any problems with the tire/rim fitting in wheel base? I know normal size are 265/70/17. did you lift your truck?

Yeah its on a 3 inch lift. I removed the front mud guards and moved the fender lining back a little and there's no problems

If you're looking for a permanent solution you could use POR-15 Caliper paint kit (Its made for slightly higher temps). Just follow the instructions, with any application, prep is the key. Once applied and dried, it's damn near indestructible. (which is why lots of people use POR-15 to protect their frames from rotting away due to winter road chemicals)

What you use to get it looking so good?

If you really want to keep swirls from showing up, the best thing is to never touch it. No towel drying and infrequent hand washing.

When i bought it I didn't wash it by hand for months, just touchless car wash. When the weather got nice, i washed it once by hand with the 2 bucket system in my garage, not in the driveway.

Then blew it dry with a leaf blower. I then clay barred the paint to remove any contaminants on the paint including rail dust. I then polished with a finishing compound (doesn't matter what brand, abrasiveness is what matters). Lastly I used DP Coating ceramic sealer to seal the paint for at least a year (they claim 2). You can wax over this after a few days.

Note this method does not remove orange peel. It simply cleans and protects the paint.

If you have swirls, you may need more polish correction but otherwise the steps are the same.

I've had good luck with BBQ grill flat black paint too.

For prep i usually sand with a low grit and then high grit paper. Clean thoroughly and paint a few coats.
