Magnetic Gun Mounts - pics please!!

Hey guys...

I ordered a couple magnetic handgun mounts for the 4runner. I have a few ideas about mounting but was curious what others have done. Im looking for a place where an air bag wont toss it on impact and it isnt pointed at an occupant. The passenger side of console is lost to a ipad/RAM mount so thats a no go.

That is one option I was looking at. The plastic there has a lot of flex. Has it held up long term?

I havent installed yet but can attest they are plenty strong enough AND will not scratch the handgun. I may do one on drivers seat as mentioned above and another in the console.

Mine is mounted in my Lock'er Down console safe.
Also have one mounted in the bottom middle cubbie thing with a Benchmade Triage knife in case I need it.
Another mounted on the outside of my console safe with a flashlight.
And one more inside my glove box with some stuff on it.

I ran a magnet mount for a while in my console safe but ended up doing velcro n holster. Problem was I was afraid of messing up my electronics n key cards that I may accidentally place to close by

I just installed one a couple days ago. Playing around a little bit discovered actually connecting the metal clip on the holster allows more room for hand to get between gun and console. Also, easier draw. The holster does not move from the magnet.

For install, so far the included 3M double sided tape is plenty strong so no screws so far, which i like.

Just to add to my previous post... I velcro lined the interior of my console safe, and I used this holster.

I like this b/c I can either hide my g26 in it or adjust it to my kahn pm9 or whatever without buying multiple holsters.

Obviously, this holster stays mounted in the vehicle.....so I don't have to take off my IWB holster. Makes life easier.

And if you have it mounted in a more conspicuous place, it doesn't scream holster or gun or whatever to unstable passerby's or passengers or valets, etc.

I personally have no desire to put it any place that has “vault” in its description. Short trips and when i am not driving i carry on my person.

The intent of the thread waz to see what location others with mag mounts had used.

Got one on the side of the center console by my hip. Seats far back enough that the belt and buckle do not impede draw. Out of the way otherwise and I can draw without leaning forward.

I only put it there when I'm wheeling or long roadtrips. Otherwise I just keep it appendix.

What I have. Hold's pretty well. You could prob just double side it to the inside if you don't want to screw it on.

For shotgun though the big sky roof rack looks good. I have seen another member here who has them.. Theres also rear of back seats with some holders for rifles and shotguns.

The magnetic your reference is pretty thin. Can make gripping the grip little more difficult than if the magnetic had more thickness or height. Overall placement may not be as flexible or use a spacer to help.
