Maintenance light flash time

Just out of curiosity, how long does that light flash after you turn your truck on? I noticed the other day mine flashes on and off for 8 to 10 seconds then goes off. It's probably always done it this long and I never noticed before. 04 limited 4wd, v8.

you sure your mileage isnt almost time for oil change? Mine flashes when its coming due then solid when its time.

Mine comes on at 4500, blinks, and stays solid at 5k. I read somewhere I can change the interval, but can't find instructions. I run 7500 for oil change and the last 2500 with a solid maint lights irritates me.

Anyone know how, or where I can get those instructions?

easy. turn odo to total miles. turn car off. hold down odo reset button and turn to ON position. maint light will blink a few times then turn off....for 5000 more miles

Yep got mine set for 7500 mi

I ignore the lights mileage, just reset it when it does it`s thing. My odometer shows my miles and i change accordingly.

Hmm, mine just does it at 7500 miles, must have been done by the PO.
