Maintenance light

So I searched and didn't seem to come up. Is the maintenance light separate from the maintenance reminder in the head-unit? My assumption is that is just comes on every 5k regardless of what you have set in the maintenance reminder.

mine just comes on in the dash every 5k. I don't have one in the head unit.

Mine's on the instrument cluster. I think it's related to the oil change interval. I don't think it's connected to anything else. There is a procedure in the manual to reset it.

Its the oil change reminder.
Just push/hold the reset button and at the same time, turn the key to the On position. The maintenance light will blink about 3-4 times and turn off. Repeat every 5k miles.

Recommended oil change is every 10k correct? I usually do mine at 7k and that is what I set my reminder in the headunit. So my mine came on at 5k and I believe that is for tire rotation. I set my tire rotation at 7k as well. I guess I thought the reminder on the dash would follow the reminder in the headunit but I guess not. I guess it makes sense because if you change your headunit than it would lose that maintenance reminder. I will just reset it and follow up when the it comes on my headunit.

My maint light comes on every 5k, even when I had a 3 mile commute to work. It would still come on every 5k. I use a synthetic/Dino blend oil. I could go longer up to 10k if i used synthetic, but my maint light would still come on every 5k.
