Hey guys and girls thought I'd toss this up
if you have anything to add...or sugg plese do.

There are two types of service from toyota I'm sure that from place to place they will be close to the same.
a Lubrication service
and
a Maintenance service

The Lubrication ir required every 6 months or 8000 km or what ever comes first (according to toyota)
it includes
Replace engine oil and filter
Remove and inspect air filter
Lube locks latches and hinges
Check horn, lights, wipers
Check coolant, break and washer fluid level
Check and adjust tires

The Maintence service should take place every 12 months or 16000 km

It includes a Lube service PLUS
Check tranmission
Inspect drive belts, and adjust tension
Check steering box, linkage and shock absorbers for looseness, damage, or leakage
Inspect ball joints and dust covers, drive shaft and steering rack boots, chassis nuts and bolts
Remove wheel and check break pad, shoe thickness adjust rear breaks as required
Rotate tires (full time 4 wheel drive very important)
road test (if u dare)

This seems like the bare min
There are a few intervials where a few more items take place
at the 32000 service, and 64000
New engine coolant
Neplace 4wd differential fluid
Replace transfer case fluid (4wd)

NOW there is one more note.....if u use your 4runner under special operating conditions, they are if u use your truck for short trips less then 5k or 8k under the freezing mark
Towing use
Dusty or muddy road driving

Replace manual transimmision transfer case and differential fluids every 24 months/ 24000
I just remember looking for this...so hope it helps someone
cheers
