Maintenance - what do you think of this price?

Just had a bunch of maintenance performed on my new to me 05 with 80k miles. I am not used to driving cars this old with this many miles, so its kind of weird to have to do anything more than an oil change or tire rotation. But atleast now I know she is good for another 80k.

Heres a list of what I had done: new pads and machine rotors, change transmission fluid, replace contacts on starter, flush brake fluid, flush power steering, flush radiator, new spark plugs, clean throttle body, replace differential fluid, and new shocks front and rear.

Parts were $573.00 and labor was $520.00 for a total of $1139.00 including tax at the independent shop I use. I thought that was pretty good. Would have been way more at the dealership.

If it wasn't for the shocks, it would have been alot less. But the ride is so much better now. Its a world of difference.

What do you think of what I paid?

Actually that was a good price to do all that. However, I'm suprised that you had to replace the shocks and the starter contacts. My 03 4runner limited has 140k miles on it and the ride is still smooth and the shocks have never been replace. But if you are happy, that's all that matters.

I knew something was up with the shocks because it would bottom out on speed bumps. It doesn't do that anymore. The starter was working intermittently. It would always start, but might take a few attempts, especially when cold. The dealer wanted $550.00 to replace the starter. They wouldn't do just the contacts. My mechanic said they were corroded. Charged me $70.00 in labor to replace them.
