Maintenence light

I have a 2004 4R with 28170 miles. I started doing my own maintenence at about 27000 miles. I changed the oil, topped off all fluids, and greased the propeller shaft. I just noticed a couple of days ago that the yellow Maintenece light is flashing about 10 times whenever the engine is started. I looked in the manual and notice that it says this means that the oil needs to be changed. I then checked the oil which was fine and went ahead and put half another quart in to top it off. Does this light come on automatically after 28000 miles? I really cant afford to have my 4R sitting at the stealership for 2-3 days just for them to reset an automatic light.

The light flashes at startup at 5000 miles. It stays solid after 7500 miles I believe. It is in no way tied to oil level nor can it decifer whether you need an oil change. It is strictly based on miles after a reset.

The procedure to turn the light off / reset it is in the manual. I don't know the page but it is in there. Takes about 2 seconds to reset.
