Major Gas leak from charcoal can on my "85

i swear the Toy gods hate me ,I got my tags today and was putting the plate on to take my 85 4r to exhaust and drive to get paint estimates while warming it up(have a no heat thread going as well no luck there either) but i smelled gas of course didnt even get the license plate on i gas pouring out of the frame vent line from the charcoal cannister i have only messed with 1 or 2 vac lines thru my search for heat and none were related to this what gives?? I have done test drives after every major step in my mini resto im returning this 85 to modified stock not a crawler/ or offroad i have my kids in it and a big pudle of gas is scary this is the only time its done this. any ideas on what i could have messd up or what to do to fix it thanks

i cant help you with a solution, my dads truck does the same. if we keep the filler cap loose, it doesn't do it.


I was told to just drill a vent into the cap, since the "system" is not venting correctly.

I just delete that totally search the forum there is a full write up to get rid of it. But here in Michigan we don't emissions test so not sure if that would be good were you are.

hey so i just went to check on it and pulling out i a brake line blew , wasnt meant to be its behind the gas tank so thats going to get dropped .... thanks for all your help guys
