Make a Trail Edition rear emblem with Plasti Dip

I think you might be SOL with plasti dip and your idea... You could try when you pull the tape off, to keep a finger with pressure on the area the tape is separating from.....

^ This. I tried this by masking the underside of the rear hatch wing, thinking the tape would leave a clean line, it does not. I've even tried making a separation line with an x-acto knife - doesn't work well either. If you decide to try this anyway, practise on something before you waste time and paint.

that looks really good, on my sr5 i just plastidipped all the chrome, even the roofracks. had toyota take them off free of charge put 7 coats on started light. *i dont have an updated pic of the racks tho

Dumb question, but where are you guys finding the Plastidip? WalMart, Lowe's and Home Depot all carry it, but it's online only around me, and Lowe's and HD want you to buy a case at a time!

Were you able to find it locally, or did you order online?

Local, both WM and Lowes. Hard to imagine that one Lowes would stock and another does not.

I got mine at Home Depot!

HD and Lowes in my area but also Pep Boys had the largest variety of colors and custom overlays like the metalizers.

Just finished PlastiDipping the logo’s on our 2018 T4ROR and have to say I couldn’t believe how easy it was ! As long as you’re patient with the layers and keep them light, the stuff self levels and no bubbling. Word of caution .... it’s very addictive. Now I’m looking to see what else is dip-able !!
