Manual hub swap, tundra breaks dust shield question

Hey Everyone,

I am planning a manual hub swap shortly, just finding the final pieces. Going over the truck the other day I noticed the dust shield is in terrible shape and I will be replacing it at the same time.

Hoping someone can confirm that a tundra dust shield will fit without modification to accommodate my tundra break upgrade? Hoping to prevent having to cut apart a brand new dust shield.

I don’t know the answer for sure but I can’t see why that wouldn’t work. Great idea BTW. When I did my manual hub swap I changed out my dust shields as well but just looked it up by VIN and got the teeny ones for 15” wheels - whoops!

Whats the advantage of switching to manual hubs?

Appreciate it JZiggy. If I can't find anyone with the for sure answer I might just give it a try. I cant see why the tundra shield wont fit but you never know.

Whats the advantage of switching to manual hubs?

The big one for me is not having the CVs spinning all the time. Going through a lot of boots with the lift. I also really like the idea of being able to use 2 low for steep hills with a trailer as well as being able to disconnect an axle if you break a CV to list a few. I had them on my 2nd gen and really miss them.

Hoping someone has a definitive answer. Going to order in the next day or two to catch up with the rest of the parts on order.

Hoping someone can also confirm the appropriate part number for a tundra dust shield. Believe they should be;

Right - 47703-34031
Left - 47704-34031
