Hey everyone,
I've got a peculiar problem after swapping in a manual ecu in my runner.
I'm currently in process of manual swapping my 01/99 build date limited 4runner. This past weekend i had swapped in a 99 ecu i had picked up off eBay. I then drove about 60ish miles where i encountered a strange issue. I completely lost power and the runner acted as if i had a massive vacuum leak. It would sputter, almost stall out, barely able to maintain idle, and after messing with the throttle it would cough like a mini backfire. I reset the ECU and made my way back home with 0 issues, almost like itd never happened. Sure enough Monday morning on my way to work, at the same 60ish miles it gave me the same issue.
The odd thing was it never threw any codes. I'm quickly arriving at wit's end here.
Anyone have an idea, or a spare 99 ecu for sale?
