Map light

This question strikes me as boarding on trivia....

I bought an SR5 map light off ebay. You know the one with a push/slide switch on each side that is mounted in the ceiling near the windshield?

Anyway...I want to put this into my '85 Deluxe 4Runner. I had the same light in my '86 SR5 and found it quite handy (besides, I think I only paid about $10 for it). Has anyone installed one of these? I think I can get power from the dome light in the ceiling but I have no idea how this thing is fastened. Looks like I would have to cut the headliner but then what?

I managed a lot of modifications this summer and actually held this unit up to the ceiling a few times but didn't quite get enough time to tackle it. It's sitting in the spare parts box at the moment.

This is just a guess but I would imagine that the mounting points for it should be there. I mean there not gonna make 2 different roofs for an SR-5 and a Delux are they it's just an option package. Is there any way you can check????

As yours is an '85 SR5, do you have the map light and, if so, can you shoot a photo sometime? No hurry. It will be next summer before I get back to the US. At least a photo would give me a good idea of what it looks at the headliner/light housing interface....before I just go cutting away with a box cutter!

Thanks!
