Marlin and Trailgear Tacoma Bumpers?

I was wondering if these bumpers from there tacoma line would work on the 4runners! I was thinking about ordering one from either vendor! I know i might have to modify them to fit but was wondering if anyone has done this yet?

I know of a few guys with the trail gear bumper. The thing with it that is bad is that the craftsmanship is just OK (made with cheap steel), and the braces for the stinger cross right in front of the headlights. But, if that is the look you are into, I recommend the Addicted offroad bumper. Craftsmanship is top-notch and it is actually made for 3rd gen 4runners.

The braces are the only thing i don't like on the trail gear bumpers! I can modify the braces! The stinger on the addicted ones look out of place cause of the size! And me saying the size i mean that it needs to be a lil wider and follow the grill lines! But that is just my $.02 worth! I like both the addicted and the TG one!
 
Well I do know that both the trail gear and addicted bumpers are not direct bolt on, the addicted bumper comes with a cross member that needs to be welded on and the bumper is bolted to that. The trail gear also needs some modification. So, by what you said changing the braces, either way will be met with modifying the bumper. Seems to me that you should see if Scotty at addicted will manufacture the bumper in a way that you want. Btw, he also is a trail gear vendor. So he can better answer questions on the trail gear bumper also.

True! My 97 T4R already has the x-member welded in the front from previous owner! He Had MossyRocks From TTORA build the bumper! When we traded trucks he took it!

Okay, I am curious. My stinger follows the grill lines. Any wider though and the gussets will block the headlights.

That will increase shipping substantially. Like adding another $100 in labor and shipping rate each. The bumpers ship flat rate at this point since I was able to get a deal worked out with my shipped on them. But, anything larger dimensionally runs A LOT more.

I am also really not a fan of the bull bar look which is why we just don't do them.

We have spoken before about a bumper and I am still interested. What all do you have to do to mount the bumper? Good winch mount? Easy access?
 
I see wear your coming from! After comparing yours to marlin and tg! I like how the winch sets a Lil lower then theirs! What would the shipping be on yours to 40422?

The winch just sits in the cradle. If you take the top bolts out, and loosen the bottom four, then you just lean the bumper forward and slider the winch into place. Its very easy. So, the bumper does not need to come off.

I attached a pic of our new crossmember. It simply slides over the frame rails. Level the bumper on the fenders and across the grill and weld it on. Most muffler shops can do this for a very decent price.

Its .250 wall C-channel with gussets in the C-channel for support. Then we provide .250 wall out plates. This covers the crumple zone in the frame as well.

Its designed to slider over the outer frame rails and weld in place as shown above. It will require some trimming of the original bumper mounts on the end of the frame that can be done with an angle grinder. Its no more grinding than mounting any other aftermarket bumper.

yeah that seems easy enough. (i can weld it in myself in shop class at school). I'm just waiting on my tax return as of now to make my decision. are you having any group buys soon? or no?
