Master Cylinder Replacement

I've searched around a bit but haven't found the answer I'm looking for, so I apologize in advance if I missed something.

I'll be replacing the brake master cylinder this weekend. The FSM says to adjust the brake booster push rod with SST - 09773-00010 (Brake Booster Push Rod Gauge). Looking at the pic of it in the manual I understand what it's doing, but can't think of a tool or a way to adjust this correctly (or really, easily) without this tool. My question is whether anybody knows of a way to do this without purchasing the gauge.

Thanks in advance.

You shouldn't have to adjust it.
Just replace the MC and make sure you bench bleed it before installing it.

I purchased an after market MC, which I feel like are never quite close enough. Thanks for the info, since I'm trying to make sure I have all my bases covered.

I know the FSM says you're not supposed to have any gap between the push rod and the piston, I wanted to make sure it wasn't the other way and shortened the piston's travel.

Again, thanks for the info.
