I went to my local locksmith to try to flash my ECU on my 05 or just get another valet key made, since I only had the valet key that came with the truck. He cut the key by hand to match the valet key, but left some material on the key that would allow it to act as a master. Apparently that's the only difference between the two. Then, he reset the immobilizer with his laptop, and it was done. $95 and the dealer wanted $500 for two keys and flashing the ecu. God bless small businesses.

Key is still a valet key from an immobilizer standpoint, but physically it should open the glove box (That's really the main difference physically from a Valet and Master Key)

I just meant that if you ever needed to reprogram the vehicle for more keys and all you had were valet keys you couldn't add additional keys to the vehicle.
