Mating OEM rear diff lock switch to Low range off-road e-locker harness?

My elocker is installed, now working on installing the harness. Since my truck was not pre-wired, I went with the Low Range off-road harness. Looks like great quality. However, because I like the “stock” look, I would like to replace the supplied switch with an OEM RR diff lock switch (the Tacoma lighted version). Here’s the problem:
The Tacoma switch has 4 wires. Two for the switch and two for lighting.

However, the Low Range switch with the harness has 10! wires. Obviously that’s a big problem. I’m not understanding the need/function of the extra 6 wire leads. Has anyone investigated the function of all these wires and the possibility of adapting an OEM switch into the Low Range harness?

Hey here is a diagram of the Toyota E-locker.
What is the Low Range switch??? Is that Toyota? If not, is it generic?
Toyota has no OEM low range switch on the dash for 3rd Gen, that I know of.
Especially if it has 10wires.

Anyway, so, the switch you have is OEM and has 4 wires only because it is connected to this controller/ECU for 3rd gen Runners, and Tacomas, and it just closes the circuit. \the ecu decides if it should lock or unlock based on this switch position.

It is not hard to add the wires, just check all of them have continuity and make sure you have all ground wires connected. Never assume that if there is a ground wire visible in the rocker panel, that it is connected to ground, as I had this problem where i see the white-black wire in the cowl below the doors, but because there were connectors connecting wire harness with wire harness, the other part of the connector had a rubber plug for that ground wire and it was never connected.

He means low range off road, a company that has a wiring kit to retrofit Toyota elockers. Not a "low range' switch to control the transfer case[/QUOTE]
 
The low range switch and wiring is designed to take the place of the 4wd computer. Thats why it is such a complicated switch. And much as you like the OEM look its going to be really difficult to use the OEM switch without using the low range switch too. I would just let it go and enjoy the fact you can engage the locker in 2wd and 4wd high with the low range switch. My 97 was not pre wired so I also have the low range switch. The only think that slightly irritates me is how brightly it is lit up, but even then you only notice it at night.
