Max Spare Tire Size, Stock Location

I have a 245/60 R20 spare tire (from the 5th get limited) and it is really tight in there. I think it may rub the rear stabilizer bar if there's any flex. I had to push it right up against the tow hitch bar to fit. When taking it down it has to be angled due to the TRD dual exhaust.

20s on a 4WD? y tho

Thought I'd bump this with my recent answer. I have 2005 Sport Edition V6. I just had a set of four Falken Wildpeaks AT3W installed in the size 275/70r17. I chose these as my research suggested they would be the largest tires I could buy and fit a similarly sized spare in the stock location, so I wouldn't need to buy a hitch mount or swing out bumper. Falken lists these at 32.4", which is slightly larger than other tires in that size normally 32.2". The spare that I chose to get is the Yokohama Geolandar A/T 255/75r17 which is 32.1" or 99% the size of the other four, close enough for me. This tire brand new fully inflated seemed to just fit perfectly in my stock spare location on the stock Sport edition 17x7.5 wheel. I had to adjust its location with my foot as I winched it up but it sits fits with milimeters to spare on all sides. Hopefully this helps anyone who wants a definitive answer. I did not have to remove the hitch receiver or otherwise adjust any components back there.

Update to this thread. I just put a 255/70r18 Goodyear Wrangler in the stock spare location in my '06 V8. It's about an inch away from the stabilizer bar, but so far no issues.
