Max Tire Size (without chop) - 3" Lift + 18" 0 Offset

Hey there. I recently replaced 3" spacer lift with a 3" Bilstein Suspension lift. my KO2's are ready to be replaced.

I bought the 4runner a year old with the spacer lift and 18" wheels with 0 offset (Granite Alloy). I off-road occasionally but not a lot and do quite a bit of distance driving on the weekends (hockey travel). I love the way the car handles with the new suspension lift.

I'd rather not replace the wheels as it's an added expense. Since I do not off-road that often I'm not sure it's worth the cost to go down to 17". If you guys say I absolutely should I'd consider it

I currently have 275/65/R18's. I feel like they look a bit small. Wondering if I can goto 285/65/18 without having to chop the body?

Anyone have any insight into what my options are here? The combination of the list, offset and 18" tires is throwing off my research a bit.

+18 offset with 285's...you might get away with it. Honestly, get the tire size you really want, but keep some cash on the side in case you need a BMC. I'd keep the 18's if that is what you like. If you do plan on offloading more often, then going to 17 is definitely worth it, because you can air down a little bit more and have a somewhat decent offroad ride quality, and have more tire to protect your wheels.

I think we are all more critical of our own rides. Most people don't care if you got 32 or 33 inch tires. I think what makes wheels and tires stand out is the offset of the rim. If you get a rim with more negative offset, or more "poke", it will make the tire/rim package way more aggressive looking. One of the main reason people run wheel spacers or really negative offset wheels, its all about the poke.

Get what your heart desires and make it fit..otherwise you won't truly be happy.
