Maxtrax mounting options

I am thinking about gettting these and just bolting to the mesh floor of the Gobi with bolts and washers. I also get a set of maxtrax locking pins.

Hey everyone thanks, I wasn't sure if anyone had actually tried the Baja accessories to see if they would work. Itsdchz I appreciate you finding that, I found that as well last night. Kind of bummed that they are in Australia. That was kind of what I was going for. I do like the Mantrax pins, but wasn't to keen on the idea of drilling my new rack. thanks for all the responses.

Let me know if you do find out if the Baja accessories work. They are cheaper than the Gobi's and to my eye, look like they would work.

Perhaps it is a result of growing up in Baltimore - but all I can think about in this thread is how easy it is to steal these very expensive items. The MaxTraxx pins and TSA locks would be like ripping a tag off a new shirt. Around here, if someone knows they're worth a couple bucks, they'll rip em off your truck in broad daylight while you're inside the gas station.

I'm super paranoid when it comes to securing items in and around my house and cars - because I've had my stuff stolen more times than I can count. If you're going to mount them externally, and leave them there, I'd come up with a better locking mechanism. I use Kanulocks for my paddleboards and other items I need to lock to the roof - a bit long and expensive for this, but something similar might be worth consideration.

Depends on the area of the country I'd say. I for one definitely do not plan to leave the trax on all the time, just the mounts. I am reasonably comfortable that they would not get stolen in most of the area around me. Fairly small towns.

In general I am somewhat paranoid about leaving my truck anywhere out of the public eye for long periods of time/overnight now though (with the lighting installed). If I were to go out to a bar and cab home, i'd never leave my truck these days. Also if I were going backpacking, I'd unfortunately also not bring my truck. Trail head break-ins are super common in WA these days. One of the semi frustrating, limiting, factors of modding a truck.

A bolt, two washers, and a spinny knob (technical term) in each corner and I was good to go. I also add a cheap gun cable lock through both boards and the rack to deter the walk by theif. Sorry for the garland, it was Christmas time.
