+1. ideally I'd like something stealthy that I wouldn't notice. Something I could attach to the back of my rear view mirror would be perfect.

it would be cool, just needs to be something on a loop where it would have little intervention from driver until needed, or else it would be a pita and the driver would never end up using it.

I definitely want to do this. I just had an incident where some guy unexpectedly switched lanes right in front of me and I barely stopped in time from hitting him. I was thinking that if I had hit him, it would have totally been my fault.

The one thing I want to check is if I do have footage from an incident, will my insurance watch the video.

Do you live in Torronto? Because this incident didn't happen in the US.

One of the top comments on that page is:

Its against the law to reverse on a highway, its also against the law to lie to cops and insurance that the guy was rear ended when he was not and had in fact reversed and hit the car behind him. This story was on the news in Toronto and that indian driver was charged with fraud!

I have this in my daily driver. It records to a hard drive continuously. They're a little pricey but could be worth it in the long run.

Not sure where it was, I just found it on the internet. I had an accident a few years back where a lady pulled right out in front of me on the interstate and I hit the rear corner of her truck. She admitted to the cop she did it, but when I had to deal with her insurance, they wouldn't admit fault. Took a while but the cop backd me up and I got everything fixed.
If I had a camera it would have gone a lot faster!
