McNeil 3rd Gen Rear Fiberglass Quarter Panels

Just got off the phone with McNeil racing and have a great opportunity for the 3rd gen community!

McNeil has agreed to design and build their own set of rear fiberglass “fenders” for 3rd gens to match their front fenders. I’ve added some photos below of a similar setup to what they are designing. For those who have LT and are looking to match the rear, this is a great setup.

The first batch of panels will be offered exclusively through SRQ Fabrications. McNeil needs payment from 5 people to get started on the first batch. Pricing for the first batch is $600 plus $300 for shipping. Pricing on future production will be higher.

Damn. Can't believe it's taken so long to get quarter glass for the third gen. Hopefully this means we will start seeing more long travel builds on this platform. I like the look. I think it flows well with the stock lines.

No, these will attach over the existing door.

They’ll need to be riveted on or bolted on. Something like this could also be used.

Most people usually use some type of rivnut, fender washer (like the ones available from autofab), or dzus tabs. The door is just overlaid with a piece of fiberglass, same as the quarter panel. It's not a whole new door shell.

Panel bonding adhesive. Nobody welds rocker panels on anymore because of it. Well ok they do but using it means you can weld less.

What is going to suck is you will still be limited by the stock metal. So if you were to run a wider axle, the tire will still hit the stock metal and bottom door frame and limit the compression travel. It will be a lot of metal and fiberglass surgury to remedy that.

Exactly what I was thinking. If the old metal is still there what's the point.

If you're rocking these (and 4 more people pony up so I can!) there likely won't be sheet metal under there to worry about, or at least there shouldn't be.

Also, it's just easier to move the axle back a few inches and avoid the door entirely if you're going wider.

I dunno. When I bought my rig, it had the unfinished front fenders already on. I’m on the fence about going back to stock which would include removing the janky wheel and lift spacer.

Any photos of a painted 3rd Gen with matching front and rear fiberglass McNeil Racing fiberglass panels? The front fenders are available for purchase, but I don’t see the rear quarter panels for sale.
