Mechanic for Head Gasket in Orange County?

Got a cylinder 6 misfire code after the car has been starting rough for a few days. My mechanic changed the coil for cylinder 6 as my plugs where just changed. No fix in the issue. Took the car to the dealership and they ran a bunch of tests. I'm not loosing lots of coolant but when they pressurized the system and looked through boroscope they saw coolant leaking into cylinder 6. Head tech determined I need a new head gasket. They quoted me $4600. I told them they were way out of the ballpark on pricing. With that being said does anyone know a good mechanic in the Orange County California Area that is reliable and honest and does good work. Was hoping the cost would be half of $4600 from what I have read online. Thanks guys :crazy:

I've been taking all my cars to Corner 3 Garage in Laguna Hills for the past 10 years. Nima (one of the owners) is a stand up guy and they never ever try to up sale you on things you don't need. Pricing is reasonable and I know I'm not getting screwed over.

Just had my 4th gen tested for head gasket failure because I was loosing coolant. My mechanic did 3 different tests and lucky me, passed with flying colors! Ended up being a bad thermostat so easy fix. Head gaskets will never be a cheap repair. It may be a bit of a drive for you from OC but I’ve been taking my rig to Connie & Dicks in Claremont for the last 5 years and I will never take my vehicle anywhere else. They’ve been there since the 60’s and have all the latest equipment. They are always honest and upfront and have never steered us wrong. SAE certified mechanics. They will give detailed diagnostics with pics, graphs, and read outs of any problem they see before you approve repairs. I’ve never got any of those things even from the expensive dealerships. They aren’t the cheapest but you get what you pay for with them and know they will do the job right! Small shop with great reputation. Good luck with your search and your rig!
