It’s always good to have some other eyes and hands to help you check out an investment. I recently returned a SUV that I had for a 5 day trial. You or I’m so hyped I miss little indicators. On the way home I stopped by a friend’s shop and from the angle he was walking from, he said it has been hit on the front driver’s side. The new headlight was the little thing that led to all the replaced parts and bad front fender alignment.
A Car-Fax is not solid info. It will only list what has been reported. I finally felt I had to go with a Certified T4R with the best Bumper-ToBumper I could afford due to the cost of the 4runners. Plus, I took it by my friend’s shop that is into bodywork and mechanical work. Then, I tore it down to verify all the work that was listed to certify it was done. All checked good after a day’s work (I documented all with Pics for future ref). Such as: Vin #s all over, all brake pads & surfaced discs, under-side inspections for any signs of damage or leaks, Rear-end oil level and condition, eng oil condition, new air filter, transmission oil condition, new tires and etc.. All looked good on the certified 07 V6 T4R with 43,000 and the Car-Fax and service records verified the mileage. Good Luck On Any New Or Used Purchase!! Jow
PS. One Toyota Dealer showed me that they c/n certify a very good looking 07 V6 because a vin # was missing on one front fender. BUT! They would sale the T4R with a 4 year Bumper-To-Bumper warranty. I Passed!
