Mechanic Recommendations for Timing Belt in Denver

I searched but all the posts were from a few years ago, and I figure more people have gotten the work done between now and then. Anyone have a good mechanic/dealership for a timing belt/water pump job? Mountain West Toyota quoted me $900 plus tax. Said he'd take $100 off and pay for my rental too. Anyone got anyone else I should talk to?

I don't think that is a bad deal at all. In my area in east Texas it is around $1000 to $1500 hundred for the job and no mention of a rental car. I am going this Friday to have a new dashboard installed and will ask the dealership there the cost and pass on to you the accurate information.

I plan on ordering all of the parts and doing it myself. There are some good videos out there on how to do it and I am going to video my work just in case I need to review what I have done.

Hey All - I'm new to this forum. Just purchased a 2006 V8 Limited and will need to do the timing belt soon as there is no history of this being done. Conveniently, I am an ASE certified technician w/ 6 years dealership experience(albeit at Nissan) and have done 2-3 of these before. I'll definitely consider doing some side work, however; no labor on warranty. Glad to see somebody from Denver already! I'm really loving my 4Runner.

I haven't had this specific service done (mine's a V6) but Greg at The Toy Shop has always done really good work. Probably worth seeing what he quotes you. They're just south of downtown off Broadway.
