Mechanic Tool Set

I'm looking to get a good tool set for my garage and am having a hard time finding a set that already has a foam organizer that the tools can go back into to help keep it organized. I already have the drawers, I just need the tools with the foam padding.

My drawers are about 18" x 14".

Anyone have any recommendations? How does everyone else do it without spending $3k+.

I've seen some YouTube videos where people buy the pieces and cut up foam padding themselves to make the sockets, wrenches, etc etc fit but to have to cut 1000+ pieces would be insane. :frusty:

There are plenty of tool sets that come in hard plastic cases that are molded to hold each tool.

if you're looking into getting tools separately and some foam to organize it i would recommend Tool lodge for the foam its a press in type of foam to organize the way you want

Yeah I actually have a pretty good set with the hard plastic case already but I'm hoping to get a more complete set as the ones those are usually just starter sets and I always seem to be missing other tools that I need.

Yup thats exactly what it is! Its a little expensive but definitely worth it. I used it for my tools at work

Cool! We went to see one of those a couple of weeks ago, that tent is spacious inside.
Nice truck, minimalist roof rack, I like it all.

Thanks, my whole approach to modifying the vehicle is simple, functional, and reliable. I don’t want to add a ton of extra weight and I’m not modifying to chase Instagram likes. It’s a Limited for the full time 4WD, RCI sliders and aluminum skids, King extended travel remote reservoir suspension, JBA upper control arms, 255/80/17 33.3” Ridge Grapplers, and some stuff like diff breather, Baja Designs Squadron Pro forglights, rewired it for high beams, low beams, and fogs to all work together at the same time, stuff like like. That roof rack in the picture (Prinsu) is gone and I’m waiting for a Southern Style Off-road rack to
Show up to replace it with. Still minimalist low profile but Prinsu was far from meeting my expectations for quality and for and finish.

And yeah that tent is spacious, it’s technically a 4 person hard shell, but 3 adults seems more accurate. For my wife and I with our son it’s like being in the living room. We love it, more importantly my son loves it, it’s like his own little tree house.
