Memory Seats

Does anyone know if there is a way bypass the need for the car to be in park for the memory buttons to work?
I usually get in the car and realize about 2 minutes into my drive that the seat has been moved, and I never want to stop and put the car into park in order to press the button and have the seat fix itself.

It would be nice if I could hit the button while driving and have the seat adjust right to where I like it.

It does not?? Wow, most cars that i have had with memory seats allow you to adjust on the move.

I thought it was pretty crazy also. You have to be in park to both program and use the memory seat.

Sounds like another lowest-common-denominator feature to prevent dumb folks from freakin out if they hit the memory button while driving and wonder why their seat is moving

I kind of thought it was more of a way for Toyota to prevent a future lawsuit. "well I was driving and hit this button that made my seat move and I freaked out and wrecked"

Oddly enough, you also have to be in Park to program (save) the memory.
Power seat memory on the Lexus has been like this all along... it must be Toyota's lawyers.

:iagree: For the same reason why we have to hit "I Agree" everytime we use the nav. At least we just need to be stopped (unless the override is inputted), and not have to be in park to use the nav.

See, those of us with 2003 models don't have to worry about memory seats. I honestly didn't know they were offered on the 2006 models!

My MDX is the same way. You can adjust the seats while driving, but not program or use the memory feature unless you're in park.
