Metal noise after front axle replacement

I had been putting off replacing a LBJ and pass side axle for the past few months. Decided to take it to an independent. Got it back with a metal grinding noise. What am I hearing?!

It sounds like maybe a slightly bent dust shield being rubbed as the wheel makes its revolutions. I just got to work so I cant have a look until tomorrow. Would rather not have to take it back to this shop.

Any other ideas on what might be causing this?

I agree with your dust shield theory.

Or wheel bearing, if you're expecting the worse. Kinda hard tho to occur going in/out of the shop.

Dust Shield, look and bend. obviously if that doesn't fix it, then dive in further.

I'll get under there and bend it back tmrw. Hopefully that'll fix it.

I would've thought wheel bearings too but there was no noise before the shop had it.

While I don't think its a wheels bearing, They can go bad fast if the axle is way overtorqued.
