Metal shavings is engine oil

Hello I am new to these boards and I have 03 4.7L 4runner sport with 165XXX miles. I bought it about 4 months ago. This is my first 4runner. I have noticed a problem within the last few weeks. There are very small metal shavings stuck to the dip stick. I recently changed the oil and it had a silver tint to it. The oil was filtered through a paint filter but the shavings were so small that they went through the screen. The engine does not smoke or make any strange noises. Power is not a issue either. Should I be very worried about this? I took it to a local mechanic and he did not seem to concerned. I can not find anyone else who has this problem online. Any help would be appreciated.

Typically A LOT of metal shavings in the oil is not a good thing(usually the motor is blown internally). Maybe a coffee filter could filter better instead of a paint filter? However IF there aren't any strange noises I wouldn't worry about it. And the noises would be something like metal on metal or heavy knocking all of a sudden. Those shavings might have been just from normal wear on the motor and the oil filter wasn't filtering anymore(oil filters have a bypass valve when they aren't efficient anymore).
