I recently installed some Metal Tech sliders on my 15 trail and wanted to give some advice for a really easy solo install. This is just some tips, not the full process and more made for the weekend warrior like myself not the home fabricators or mechanics.
I was afraid I wouldn't be able to install these myself because they weigh around 70lbs each. I used a pair of jack stands to get them in place.
And I put the bottle jack somewhere around the middle post to slowly lift them under the KDSS pipes/wiring/things on the drivers side.
I had to keep shaking it a little so the plate didn't get hung up on the KDSS gear, but besides that it slid right under. Once you get the middle bolts in you are golden. Make sure you are not lifting it unevenly or one side will press against the body. It was also necessary to remove the tabs that hang down on the rear tire well.
And don't lose the bolts. I had to go to 3 hardware stores to find someone who had a good supply of metric sizes that were fully threaded.
