Miami Bound

Hey all,
sorry I've been away for a while, been busy with this military school I'm attending. anyway,
Our next big trip is on the horizon. We will have four days of for thee labor day weekend, so I've decided to travel to Miami and visit with some cousins that I have not seen since 1978. I'm very excited about the trip, and so is my son. He just loves traveling in the 4Runner.

But,
Yesterday while cleaning my SUV, I noticed allot of brown spots all over the vehicle. It turns out that the tree in the front yard has some sort of crap that falls everywhere and turns everything brown. Looks almost like spilled coffee stains on the SUV and my 65 mustang. Yes I was pissed. Had to call the base housing dept. to have them come and trim the tree, and spent hours trying to wash the vehicles. Now I have allot of fine scratch marks on the roof. Lucky for me I was able to search the topic of scratch removal on this site and found a plethera of information about the different types of products to remove small fine scratches.

Thanx all. And I'll let you all know how the SUV performed on the long trip to Miami and back.

Sorry to hear about your "tree problem”. I hope you will be able to get rid of those scratches.
I'm sure your trip is going to be great. I just came back from my vacation where we spend 6 days driving our 4Runner and I can only tell you that I think about this trip every day and can't wait to go for next one.
About week ago I was looking for something and found few pictures of your 4R. I really like your front. I also have titanium and guess what. My new Canadian Bug is on its way. I should get it next week. It looks great with this sticker. Now I plan to start looking around for nice bull bar. Where did you get yours? I found one similar and it was over $300. I don’t like experiments but after looking at pics of your 4R I have an idea which way to go with mine and what accessories I should be looking for. I Hope You don’t mind. :D

thanx

I found mine doing research here. I took some advice and looked at autoseattle.com. I ordered the bar while I was still in Afghanistan, thinking that it would take about 2-3 weeks, and I would make it home when it arrived. Well, it arrived about 5 days after ordering it. The wife was a little angry, because she didn't know what to do with it or where to store it, but my son was able to help her move the bull bar. Installation was quite easy, and if you need some close up photos, let me know and I will take a few more digital closeups for ya.

their is what I call a dust flap, a piece of flexible plastic that keeps dirt from entering the radiator area, I moved it on the previous picture so you could see better. I was able to keep all original components, when I installed the bull bar hardware, hope this makes scense.

this is what the main "support" to the bull bar looks like. The instructions only had pictures, so it took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to install it. I originally started from the bottom, this picture, and worked to the radiator section, but found it easier to attach those parts first, and then work the rest.

krosno.....i'm in chicago if you need help installing one :)

scout...is that a boxer?? i love boxers!!!! toybox has one too. they're the best dogs IMO.

Thanks a lot Scout Av8er. These pictures and your tips will make install a piece of cake ( I hope :D ). If not I’ll bother You TranceKrayz :D To be honest both of yours bars look similar. Only difference is that one is black and the other chrome. I will go with a black one because it's going to look really nice with Canadian bug, which should be here tomorrow. I'll post some pics when I get them installed.
Thanks guys.

Very cool looking dog Scout!

Boxers are great (had 4 so far) and they stay looking and acting like puppies their whole lives.

thanx dude

this was one of my son's birthday presents. It's his first dog and it's working out great.
right now I'm just worried about my upcoming trip, if Frances is as bad as Charlie was, or worse, we may be staying put for the 4 day weekend.
