Done! In and out in 1.5 hrs. Ride really, really well. Wub-wub sound I thought could be older bearings completely disappeared--dead silent on smooth roads. Bumps aren't as jarring. Yessir!
How do you like them now? I've been going back and forth between these and the A/T 2's with the current promotion that Michelin is running.

They're excellent! Granted, I don't do any offroading and roll up 20k/yr with loads of highway miles. It's done well in what little sand I've put it through as my beach wagon.
Probably one of the best riding tires I've had. Much quieter than the Bridgestones on my wife's 4th gen.
I'd recommend them.

I agree as well! If you want to be really picky, while turning, you can hear a little white noise, or slight hiss sound from the tires, but you'd have to be crazy listening. It's the quietest tire though.

I have had both the original Michelin LTX and now have the Bridgestone Alenza Plus
30x9.50r15 Michelin LTX came on my truck when I purchased it. These handled themselves great on and off-road (mostly camping and some mud) but did not last long more than 6 months as they had hardened and began wearing rapidly until tread was nearly gone. Even though these were some old @$$ tires they still road smooth and balanced well when I would periodically check them.
Would have gone back to this tire but did not want to pay the price tag.
On to my current Bridgestone Alenza Plus in the 265-75r16 flavor that I got back in October of 2015.
After 8k miles now I have not noticed any wear from the Bridgestones. I drive 55+ miles a day going back and forth between home, school and work. These are good in the dry weather and wet wether one commonly experiences in FL. Unfortunately if you do anymore than highway or hard packed dirt choose a different tire. These have no grip at all off-road but ride smooth as hell with minimal road noise.
For example backing off a friends dirt driveway up a small grade was nearly impossible without a running start and would just spin if you try to slowly back up it.
Overall I love the Alenzas for 80% of what I do and the other 20% would be much better with a decent AT tire.
Definitely wish I had gone with the Terra Grapplers or Toyo Open Country ATs I was looking at and will do if these Alenzas ever wear out.

Just an FYI, Michelin is discontinuing their entire a/t line of tires. It will be a slow phase out according to their customer service line, but they've already stopped making the A/T 2s in 285/75/16. I went looking for the specs of them in 285 because I was curious how much they weighed, but they weren't even listed on michelins own website, or the popular online tire venders, so I inquired further.
If you want the A/Ts, get them soon!

where is said promotion?
They told me they basically don't sell enough of the AT's so they're getting rid of the entire line. They told me that soon the AT's will be phased out and replaced with Defender LTX all season highway tires.
I guess they ran the numbers and decided they weren't a competitor in the AT world

I have been using the Michelin LTX since I bought the vehicle and they've been great. I did have a puncture in a rear tire on Table Mesa road at high speeds but I considered it a case of bad luck. I patched it and put it on my spare wheel and it's been holding air ever since. Good mileage and on-road grip out of them.

Does anyone know the difference in ride quality between the Defender MS's vs the AT2's? I know the Defender MS is a heartier tire, but to be honest if the MS's are noticeably louder than the AT2's I'd rather go with the AT2's.
Also, the MS's are currently cheaper on Tire Buyer (link below), despite being rated 10k miles higher than the AT2s.
Would love to get any feedback on the ride differences and overall thoughts on which way to go.

i honestly dont think you will ever notice the difference, they are both great tires. id go with what ever one you can get for a better price.
