Just joining the conversation, for as many 4runners as I see on the road in Michigan, I'm surprised by what I'm seeing on here! I've got a first gen that is hibernating right now but come summer I should be back on the road. As far as trails, Manistee National forest is where I've done the most wheeling but I've heard rocks and valleys orv park in Harrison is a good testing ground. Might try to check it out after it warms up.

FWIW, I have my runner at a place called Downriver Springs for an install of shocks/springs. I checked all over and the offroad specialty shops were expensive, with long waiting lists, or extended time to get the job done.
This place does a lot of commercial, so they can take care of a private vehicle quicker. I really like the folks here so I hope the job comes out right.

New to the forum here! Also first time Toyota owner - a beautiful 1999 w/ 5 spd and e-locker! In the greater Lansing area. Hoping to use my new purchase to explore some of the places in Michigan I've not seen yet! Also interested in finding some local (as possible) groups to explore with.

Thanks for accepting me. Looking for 4Runner enthusiasts in my area (Michigan). I own aV8 gen4 and I think it’s time to render justice to this fine truck. Looking to get a Relentless front bumper as the stock is about to fall off. The price is quite steep, was hoping for some home-grown Michigan bumper specialists who can rival Relentless for a price that won’t cost a limb/s. In the $1,000 range if possible, including mounting. I may be too noob for the price point, perhaps someone can help? Will upgrade also the mufflers, headers, shocks, springs, tires, and wheels within this year. Will appreciate any help especially in the front bumper as initial upgrade. Thanks!

If you live in the LP then I'd highly recommend the Manistee National Forest. Days and days of awesome trail systems in that area. I intend to get up to the UP this fall - I know there's good stuff but I have minimal experience up there - eager to start mapping it out!

Where to get a 4R in metro Detroit
Hi everyone,
Does anyone have any suggestions/contacts of who to purchase and service a new 2021 4R? This will be my first one and I am thinking TRD ORP or Venture.
I would like to find a knowledgeable and trust worthy sales person and hopefully mechanic at dealer and try to establish a long term Toyota relationship.
I live in the metro Detroit area and am willing to drive a bit for good service and someone who will take care of my vehicle.
