Yes, I did do search and viewed numerous videos and bits and pieces on this.

All that said, do any of you know of a video/step by step that describes how/where to add the add a switch on a 5th gen 4runner? It sounds like I can simply plug the add a switch switch into a vacant area of my fuse box via a 3amp fuse but some pics and descriptions would be nice.

I got the light bar and factory button all working and I just want to clean up the look on the inside. Bottom line, is there any add a fuse recommendations, fuse size and should there be any worry that the fuse box cover wont be able to go back on ass the add a switch will get in the way?

Thanks for the link. Saw that one earlier but he is fairly vague on where he taps in. At this point, from the research I have done I am going to find and open slot on my fuse box that is on only when the ignition is on. I will then tap into that open slot via my add a fuse with a 3 or 5 AMP fuse.

Keep in mind I have not done much wiring and a lot of you are FAR more proficient than I. As such, if my logic is off and I am about to blow shit up let me know.

What you said will work just fine. .Make sure you have the right size "add a fuse" and plenty of zipties to tidy up the wiring and you should be good to go!

Will do. Should I be concerened that the fuse box cover will not be able to go on due to the add a switch?

I only have two right now. I may add a third for backup lights down the road.

As long as the switches are controlling a relay and are not used to drive the actual lights, you will be fine.

Do the red wire next to the black to a fuse tap, and tap into a fuse that comes on with the headlights. This makes the "LED Light Bar" lettering light up when your headlights are on, then the actual image on the switch lights up when you turn the light on)

I crimped a longer piece of red wire on then crimped one of these. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LFXA5XM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Then pulled the tail light fuse, popped it into the tap, and plugged the tap into the tai light fuse slot.

Very helpful input from everyone. I got the "hard" part done some time ago but it was down to wiring that last red wire so the lettering would ONLY come on when the vehicle is on and not all the time. I still have the RIGID switch in my vehicle for that reason and did not have time to figure out the "bonus" wire until now.
