Mid-atlantic off-roading?

Any suggestions on where to get dirty in the MD/DE/PA/NJ region? I've got a good handle on the surf fishing areas, but have not yet found anything like backcountry trails.

Greenridge State Park, MD. It's out by Flintstone, MD off of Hwy. 68. It's an 18mi ORV trail that'll make a nice whole day trip.

Thanks! Took a quick look at the trail map, and it definitely would be a good family day out. When I do it, I will post some pics.

What type of wheeling?

GRSF (Flinstone, MD), the Pine Barrens (Wharton SF, NJ), many state forests in PA, and the Geo Wash Natl Forest (VA) have forest trails great for beginners and stock trucks.

For more serious wheeling (trails and rockcrawling) there's Big Dogs and Crozet in VA, Rausch Creek and Paragon AP in PA, and the Tellico ORV Area in NC.

They are pay-to-play off-road parks.

Not looking for anything too extreme. I'm driving a stock 2007 Sport. Will take a look at those areas. Thanks!

The Canal is always good, down by Reedy Point Bridge. The north side river side has some trails, the good ones all are on the south side on the river. But if you just go around down there, you can find them. There are some off Summit Bridge if you head down Bethel Church and turn on Old Telegraph Rd the dead end facing the C&D. Just watch out, some of the mud holes are 3feet plus
