Looking over the engine today to see where all the vacuum lines go and whatnot cause I'm about to adjust my valves. Noticed on the catalyst for the 22re it says FED&canada. No California. It's been in California for a while. I just got it a couple months ago. So it's a 22re and not rec. am I going to have issues with smog'in it? Thanks guys.

You may have a problem unless there is an exemption for out of state vehicles since the emissions systems are quite a bit different. You should probably check with the DMV or Air Resources Board (or whatever it's called in CA) to find out for sure. Or you could just try having it tested when the time comes. Has it ever passed there before?
It's from Oregon I believe. A buddy got it here and had it plated. It's po was from ca and was redgistered here. I got it redgistered here but they didnt make me smog it when I got it in my name. I'm just wondering. I've never asked him how he sniffed it an whatnot. And have no idea how to get a hold of him now.

you still have a cat. there is just two different version of the cat. a 50 state/ California cat vs a Fed cat.
with your vin and a visual inspection. the smog tech should be able to smog it accordingly

Yea it had been registered here for a whole and has ca plates. It's been slogged before. Well it kinda had to have been to have the CA plates. I know a guy who can test it for free and see but I can't get a hold of him so I thought I'd ask the guys from this fine forum!
