Due to running the 700lb spring up front, I only have about 1.5 inch of thread showing. I do have a slight rake to the front, which I think i might lift the front a bit more. I too am thinking about tweaking my alignment a bit, mainly adding a bit more caster. I do rub the body mount when reversing at full lock. Not a lot, just a bit. I put the UCAs and the suspension in at the same time so I have no real comparison, only vs the stock suspension, which it is greatly improved.

Wheels have a negative offset, -12 to be exact. Backspace is right at 4.53 inches and I love the stance.

Wow, you have 1.5" of thread showing, Mine from the factory were at 1" and I lowered them down to have only about 1/2" showing. The ride was a bit too stiff for me up front since I have no extra weight. Now its Nice!!

What is the advantage of this over painting it?
Does it have a lower cost and/or ability to remove it if you miss the chrome?

It is easy to remove and the chrome will be in like new condition (or condition it was when wrapped), amount of time to apply (if its small). Its really just a different way to "paint" something. People get parts or the whole car wrapped vs painting the whole car.

It was just easier to do then to get painted.

Yeah will do. So far so go, just hose it off, looks like new. Will let you know at the end of this winter how it looks.

will be painting the box black, and will be two drawers. It's not perfect, but I save a lot of $$$ by doing it on my own. Plus, it just feels good to tell people "I made it," instead of "I spent too much at so & so." More to come...
 
Yeah the 120 guys gave me crap last weekend about not having a build thread there. The busted a couple of us out, it was good times.

I like it, nice and simple. One of the features I miss most from my 4th gen is the double decker cargo area. Are you able to recline the rear seats still?

Also, how is the front vinyl wrap holding up, any nicks or chips visible?

Yes the seats still recline. To many of the friends love that on the way to the snow.

The vinyl is holding up great. Not a single chip, nick, no fading, and no peeling.
 
hey mike, great set up. couple of questions fro you... first, where did you get your OW installed & aligned? second, the vinyl- you have number to the shop or name? third, how is the ride with the lift vs. stock now? i'm close to purchasing the OW! ( any second thoughts? ) thx. btw- i'm in s'vale, maybe we'll see you around...

First answer: I actually had it installed with Andries of OW and then took it to Firestone with lifetime alignment.

Second answer: Vinyl Styles in San Carlos.

Third answer: The ride is much better, actually rides like a truck now.

You won't be disappointed with the Overland Warehouse kit. They do have two versions, a 2.0 and a 2.5 and if you contact Andries he will walk you through the systems and help you choose which way to go. Plus he will have the shocks valved according to your needs.

Bring your rig out to Hollister with us over at 120. Fun group of guys to wheel with.
