Mileage question

Newbie here. Many wonderful stories re Toyota products. I have a line on my first: a v6 SR5 2004 4Runner 170k highway driven (150 easy miles every day) company car from my BFF's company. Feel silly spending 8k on this vehicle with so many miles. Know the mechanic who has seen the car over years (he works on my jeep currently; have all the records. Vehicle is cherry, ridiculously beautiful. Still 170k is 170k. 8k is 8k. Any thoughts? i know timing chain is a big question to have answered. What else should I ask mechanic next time i talk to him before I pull the trigger.
Thanks.

PS I drive in town and put 5k miles a year and expect to have this car for awhile. the 1993 jeep grand cherokee i currently drive ( it's time to put it down) has served me well for the last decade as I hope this will.

If its as nice as you say it is ,the truck is well worth $8k. Book value is probl around $12K. Not uncommon to see 250,000+ miles on maintained Toyotas and if youre only driving 5,000 miles a year , in a few years the miles/age ratio will match the vehicle. Id buy it and sell the Jeep :bigok:

you don't post this type stuff in the clasifieds, use the other forums for this type of topic, unless you are going to sell what your talking about, then post a pic
