Some of the fellas on here are near the 400k mile mark. Even with improper care they go for a good while. You'll have to do some shopping around but you can find them with under 75k miles.

Would look for one with <160k with newerish waterpump. I did mine at 75k and I'm going to do my second one at 140. Toyota only recommends every 90k, but preventative maintence is where its at.
Also look for newerish tires, shaking brakes (common problem).

One nice thing about Toyota trucks is that you kinda have to go out of your way to try to ruin one.
They will limp along with broken CVs, warped rotors, missfiring plugs, - all lkinds of problems, until you fix them.
The 4Runner is like your dog. Always faithful, maybe has some issues from time to time, but will be there for you. until it gets old and senile and pees in his sleep all over your bed...

I've got 180k (not that much compared to most guys) and I can legitimately say, aside from when my battery died when I left my headlights on, I've never even once had my 4Runner not start. I don't even know what it sounds like trying to start. It's never even come close to not starting.

And I beat the f-ck out of my 4Runner

Lol. What does that look like in 4Runner form? Leaking oil all over the garage floor?

With proper care? 683,415 miles.

Buy one with less than that. It all depends on how the vehicle was maintained, driven, etc. I looked at one with 90,000 miles that I'm convinced is in worse shape than mine which is now pushing 160,000.

Good luck.
