Interesting "truth"voice headline. When you read the linked article you see that the headline is completely false. Arizona is not banning the video recording of officers at all. That is not what the article says. It said one representative has introduced a bill that would require people taping the police to be 20 feet away. The headline is inflammatory, false bullpoop, which is apparently what feeds forums. From a legal standpoint, there is no expectation of privacy for anyone in a public place to not be video recorded. Police or otherwise. At the mall, at the park, in a store, whatever. Anything you can see with your eyes in a public place, you can video. Key words are expectation of privacy. Of course you can't look up someone's skirt, or peer in a window, or tape that legally. The intent of the bill introduced was to ensure the unfettered and safe operations of police, but it is on its face unconstitutional and unnecessary. If you are taping or doing anything, and are so close as to interfere with an officer, or make the situation unsafe, that would be a separate crime, "Interfering with a police officer."
