Mingus Mountain Trail Pics

I went on the Mingus Mountain trail near Jerome Arizona. It was a great trail, it wasn't hard but it wasn't easy either - kept you busy. The trail was very narrow with one side a cliff and the other the sheer side of a mountain, and the scenery was amazing. There were 4 of us total, my friend and I in my truck and a couple of our friends in the Heep. Half way through the trail when we stopped for gas the Jeep wouldn't start back up, we had to take the battery out of my 4Runner and put it in his Jeep to get it running, then switch the battery back into my truck so I could start it up and head out again.

Things to bring next time: Jumper Cables.

Anyway here are the pictures!

Your 4th gen looks mean with that bull bar and black wheels.

That looks like a great time. I can't wait to go wheeling some day.

Thanks guys! I'm loving how agressive the truck looks with the addition of the black wheels. They're wider too, so it gives it a meaner stance even when you can't see the wheel itself - like from the very front or back.

Those are some great pics.

Did I miss one of your posts about your headlights? Those look really good with the Hella Black Magics. Are those the JDM headlights or something else? The truck looks really good.

The headlights are the HID Conversion I did. They're the standard lights which I cut apart to fit a Xenon projector inside and painted the outer area black to look a bit like the JDM lights. I'm working on a HOWTO for the conversion, but I'm lazy... :p

I didn't think they were the JDM lights since I could see the projector beams, but I never had really looked at them that close. they look really good.

I am not trying to hijack the thread but is that the Westin Safari Bar? I thought some people that had the Westin Safari bar had a hard time mounting larger lights like yours since the tabs were so far out to the sides. Just curious.

It is the Westin bar, and I had to get a little creative mounting my lights. I made brackets to go on the holes that would extent the mounting locations into the middle more, giving me more clearance.

Sent you a PM.

Awesome pics bro! Is your T4r lifted or is that stock height? I noticed that your still running the AT20 tires, how did they perform off roading? I've heard they aren't the best. Did you get a fender bender during the trip? I noticed you had a crease on your passenger side. Well, I love the look of your rig. You did a great job with the head lights.

The truck isn't lifted, but it will be by next week! :D

The tires seemed pretty decent off-road, I'll upgrade them after these ones wear down a bit more, get a bigger tire to go with my lift. Can't get myself to throw away tires that are mostly brand new... I didn't do any hardcore off-roading really, it was a moderate trail that kept you busy but didn't have anything that would really tax the tires or anything.

The passenger door was caused by a Sentra who wasn't paying attention to what he was doing about a month ago. I haven't had a chance to get it into the body shop to fix it up because I don't have a spare car to drive in the meantime. I tried to take most of the pictures without getting the door in the shot but a few of em got it anyway. Oh well, hopefully in a couple weeks I can get it fixed... :(

Maybe it is just my computer, but I can't pull up your pics. Bull bar and black wheels.....I really want to see what they look like. Thanks.

That's strange, anybody else having this problem? The pictures are hosted through webshots, see if any other webshots pictures work.

My bad, it looks like my company has listed webshots as a site that we aren't able to visit. Kinda like not being able to access hotmail or yahoomail. It should be working for everyone else that doesn't have a similar work restriction. Sorry for the confusion. I'll have to remember to check this and any other threads with webshots when I get home.

Vortec4800: I live in Phoenix and lived for 4 years in Cottonwood (actually Cornville) when I was in High School, but never knew about this trail. Could you tell me how to get to it?

btw - Any recomendations before I go?
