Miss when cold....help

So I hop in the 4Runner the other day to run some errands, start it up and it idles a little rough, then has some hesitation and a slight miss under acceleration but only at low speeds. The miss goes away above 30mph and runs just fine. Starting it again after my first stop....no rough idle, no miss. I didn't get any light on the dash during this. What could be causing this without triggering a check engine light? Thanks.

Being that its a cold condition I would guess you may have a sticky injector, I'm sure the CEL with come on if you keep running and that way you can narrow it down better. When was your last tune up?

Yeah, a leaky injector could be it. When it sits, it could be leaking fuel into a cylinder and when you start it, that flooded cylinder will miss until it burns all the excess fuel off.

Try cleaning your MAF sensor as this can cause hesitation and a rough idle also. Keep an eye on your coolant level and make sure you aren't loosing any also. That could indicate a possible head gasket issue.

Also, when was the last time you did plugs and wires?

Thanks for the tips. I was thinking of cleaning the MAF and maybe running some Seafoam through it to see if that might help.

I haven't changed plugs and wires. I'm the second owner and I've had it for two years now. I'm sure it's time to replace those as well.
